About the Author

JAN BORNSTEIN follows the initial success of Beyond Beautiful with more of what her fans have come to expect: rocking, passionate, yet sensitive romance. Jan was a musician and singer in her younger days and enjoyed a brief stint as a manager for a Boston area rock band. Now a registered nurse, with degrees in psychology from Bridgewater State College and nursing from UMass Boston, she granted herself a hiatus from a busy career in home nursing care management to indulge her inner writer. She makes her home south of Boston. Sweet Emotions is her second novel.

Sweet Emotions

Book 2 of the Song Trilogy

  • The private lives of two music icons
  • Explore the rigors of the music world
  • Share a sweet and sensual romance
  • Addresses issues of drug, alcohol, and sexual abuse

Sweet Emotions is the second book in The Song Trilogy that began with Beyond Beautiful. In Beyond Beautiful, rock stars Jenna Bradford and Scott Tenny managed to find love – perhaps the truest love either had ever experienced – in spite of the chaos of the worlds in which they lived. Hardly youngsters, these two arrived at the doors of love with complicated pasts and emotional baggage that would leave the sturdiest Cupid staggering.

Now we rejoin Jenna and Scott as their frenzied lives careen off in new and equally unexpected directions. Both stars in their own rights, these lovers share lifestyles that make normal life and love difficult, if not impossible. Somehow amidst the madness that is musical fame, these two manage to find each other and meld their lives and their music into a harmony that is as sweet as it is undeniable. As Sweet Emotions opens, Jenna and Scott are excited to be expecting a child, which can only further deepen – and further complicate – their special relationship. They continue their struggle to attain a life and happiness together that each so richly deserves, one where bitter, difficult truths can be eclipsed by Sweet Emotions.

One reader said:

“It’s a must read for anyone who loves Rock and Roll or a great love story.”

Other readers draw parallels to the similarities between Scott Tenny and real-life rocker Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, an acquaintance of Bornstein’s from the South Shore music scene.

Beyond Beautiful

Book 1 of the Song Trilogy

In Beyond Beautiful, the first volume of The Song Trilogy, Jan Bornstein introduces a larger-than-life pair of characters and the tortured lives they lead as they strive for something like normalcy in the glare of the media – where every rumor of happiness or grief becomes grist for the gossip mill, where every public moment is chronicled in close-up by paparazzi armed with cameras.
